Post Nº 23. A Message From The Future.

Dear friends. They tried to silence me, but I will come back. Bandwidth to the past is very expensive, so this got to be short. I am still out here, fighting for truth and justice. Never stop believing! See all of you soon.

Really, the Last Post here.

Since I am not really at the AKI anymore and my online portfolio finally is online, this site right here seems obsolete (at least to me). So, in case you are interested, check it out: www.haikog.de. You've reached the number you've dialed.

This Blog Is Closed.

We are sorry to have to inform you that this blog is discontinued. For reasons the management had no influence upon, the blogger responsible all of a sudden left the laboratory known as 'AKI' and can therefor no longer access the internet. Also, we used our orbital stupifying laser to render him useless for blogging. We kindly request to accept our apologies for the inconvenience. Thank you for reading.

Heaven And Hell In Mexico

My brother is taking a semester abroad in Mexico at the moment. As part of his studies, he had to organise a little party called »heaven and hell«. So he asked me to design a little poster for it, which I did. And this is how this little poster ended up hanging around about everywhere in Monterrey, even street vendours are reported to be affected. As I found out when my brother sent me these pictures, the feelings about what can be called a »little party« differ a lot from here to there.
Since I had no idea about how the posters there look at the moment, and the deadline was somewhat close (Thursday night: »Do you feel like designing a little poster for me? But it has got to be finished Friday morning.«) I went for a pretty generic look. The font used is Ghana Signpainters Divine Healer by myself.

Please Do Not Blog Here

As any of us can tell, there are not enough signs in the streets telling you what is allowed and what is not. Especially in less common situations, the average citizen is left to himself. All the time you got to make hard decisions on your own, may I eat this salad and dolphin sandwich here – or not? Might I be hurting somebodys religious feelings? Is it allright if I incinerate myself here or could I be breaking the law in doing so? May I listen to bad hiphop music here? Or is even the consumption of good hiphop music considered an offense in this neighbourhood?

For the »Wall Of Statement« project I picked 12 of the more common problematic decisions of everyday life and ruled them once and for all. Once the european parliament has adopted my admittedly a bit stricter approach to public space rulings, I expect these 12 and at least ten times more signs to be put up in every european city. It is only a question of time until the united S of A follow.

Not Yet XMas

The guys from the akifeestcommissie are not only to few, they also got too much work to do. Who am I, therefore, to reject their plea for a well designed poster announcing their Bingo evening. To be exact, they needed two ones, the first as seen below to raise attention and keep people asking themselves what the crazy feestcommisie might have thought up now, the second one uncensored to give away all the information... click this:

Since the budget was small, it had to be printed in A3 black and white and was handcoloured thereafter. The font used for »Bingo« is, as you can see, the legendary »Black Frituur« (see last entry).
